System Selection Process

  1. Engage stakeholders in identifying requirements (functional and others), and work with team to determine deliverables.  
  2. Evaluate potential solutions and narrow selection to top choices.
  3. Subject top choices to more rigorous reviews (security, contracts, usability).
  4. Selection team makes recommendation to sponsor on solution after considering functionality, usability, security and cost.
  5. Sponsor secures funding (a request may be made to SAGIT for one-time costs) and additional resources needed (including a commitment from OIT if necessary).
  6. Contract is negotiated and signed.
