With major IT projects underway to modernize the University's network infrastructure, automate processes, optimize software delivery, and continually improve IT services, we always find ourselves in need of more helping hands on our teams. We are currently looking for team members for the following roles:


DevOps Engineer

In this role, you design and implement DevOps automation strategies to support a portfolio of on-prem and cloud applications. You also partner with OIT colleagues to develop organizational infrastructure standards and determine best practices for cloud application development. (#2025-20479)     

The job is ideal for someone who:

  • Is looking to design, build and maintain automation for infrastructure creation/maintenance and application deployments    
  • Enjoys creating and maintaining software development processes
  • Is interested in managing DevOps projects and collaborating with colleagues across the University 

Skills you bring to the table:

  • Strong experience working supporting DevOps infrastructure in a technical capacity
  • Strong experience in the installation, upgrade, enhancement, and support of custom applications in a cloud hosting environment
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks (Puppet, Terraform)

Assistant CIO, Compliance and Risk Management

In this role, you lead you lead efforts to ensure that the University’s technology operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance and risk management programs, tracking compliance activities, and providing training and guidance to staff. (#2025-20542)     

The job is ideal for someone who:

  • Is interested in leading the Office of Information Technology (OIT) in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies that meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Enjoys building tools to monitor compliance and risk management activities
  • Is looking to lead strategic planning and budgeting efforts around technological resources needed for compliance and risk management programming

Skills you bring to the table:

  • Strong experience in a compliance role, preferably within a technology or higher education environment
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance regulations and standards, including data privacy laws and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively train and mentor staff
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks

Associate CIO, Project and Technology Consulting Office

In this role, you lead the project consulting organization and oversee a complex portfolio of strategic and high-impact projects and initiatives that contribute to the mission and success of Princeton University. You are also responsible for the University’s IT governance process, University-wide IT program management, and IT consulting capabilities. (#2025-20482)

  • Is looking to direct the Project and Technology Consulting Office (PATCO) and ensure the success of University-wide strategic IT projects
  • Enjoys leading a group of talented IT professionals who actively manage a portfolio of complex IT projects
  • Is interested in overseeing an IT Governance process which cooperatively develops and establishes IT strategy and policy

  • Strong experience leading program management for a large portfolio of complex IT projects

Chief Information Security Officer

In this role, you lead Princeton’s Information Security Office and develop the University’s information security policy. You are responsible for increasing information security awareness across campus, guiding the design and implementation of security processes for information systems, overseeing the University IT Risk Assessment process, and responding to all security breaches. In this role, you utilize industry best practices to define, implement, communicate, and improve service management processes. You will also manage a set of service management processes with the goal of enhancing the reliability and value of IT services. (#2024-20271)

  • Is looking to coordinate, plan, analyze and deliver functional requirements across campus 
  • Collaborates well with University process owners, stakeholders, and developers to ensure processes follow ITIL standards and best practices  
  • Is looking to provide training and guidance around how to best leverage the ServiceNow platform for service delivery, configuration, and support 

Skills you bring to the table:

  • ITIL Foundations certification required 
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end software/application development utilizing the Agile methodology 
  • Strong communication skills

Lead Network Service Optimization Engineer

In this role, you you optimize the University’s routing and switching operations and continually improve firewalls, load balancers and IP address management (IPAM) solutions. You also enhance network configurations, proactively monitor for potential issues, and provide recommendations for improvements. (#2024-20219)

  • Is looking to lead the technical assessment of the campus network to identify and prioritize areas for continuous optimization and redundancy  
  • Enjoys collaborating with colleagues to review incidents and resolutions, and identify workarounds and permanent fixes
  • Is interested in keeping abreast of emerging networking technologies 

Skills you bring to the table:

  • Strong experience managing or supporting medium to large network infrastructure environments 
  • Knowledge and experience in network routing, switching, and security management
  • Extensive understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP and network security policies 
  • Experience with Cisco equipment and configurations
