October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and as part of the University’s Information Security Awareness and Training Program, we are now offering annual, online training for all faculty and staff. We will also be conducting simulated phishing assessments throughout the year. We hope that the things you learn will help you make better security decisions both on campus and at home. Here’s what you can expect:

Information Security Annual Training Module

Education is critical to learning the best practices and skills necessary to identify and avoid cybersecurity threats and risky behaviors. This 20-minute training assignment will introduce you to key concepts. To access the training, please log in to our online portal. We ask that managers encourage their staff to complete this assignment by October 31, 2024.

Simulated Phishing Emails

In the coming weeks, the Information Security Office (ISO) will start to send simulated phishing tests to assess our ability to recognize and report suspicious emails. All suspicious emails can be sent to the University’s Phish Bowl for review. Please note that the results of the simulated phishing tests will not be released and will be used for internal review by the ISO.

For more detailed information about annual training and simulated phishing, please refer to our knowledge base article. For more resources and information, please reference the Cybersecurity Awareness Month webpage, and visit us at the Campus Wellness and Safety Fair.

Thank you for helping to keep our campus safe.
