New learning management system coming to Princeton starting spring 2020

Friday, Oct 11, 2019

A new online learning management system (LMS) is coming to Princeton, starting in the spring of 2020.  The new LMS, called Canvas@Princeton will replace Blackboard as the tool to support courses at Princeton and course collaboration between faculty and students.

The Canvas Implementation Team, led by the McGraw Center with technical and administrative support from the Office of Information Technology, will help faculty transfer their course content from Blackboard to Canvas starting with a small pilot group of faculty in the spring of 2020. The work to transition all Princeton courses to Canvas@Princeton will continue for two-plus years, through spring of 2022.  The implementation team will work with approximately 300 faculty per semester.  A schedule for when departments will move to Canvas will be announced in the spring.

For more information and a project timeline, see the Canvas@Princeton website at canvas.princeton.edu.
