Zoom will be fully deprecating the Chrome OS app on October 15. ChromeOS users are encouraged to switch to the Zoom progressive web application (PWA) for the most up-to-date and feature-rich experience.
Users can access and run the PWA within the browser by visiting pwa.zoom.us/wc. However, a small download is also available, which will create an experience more similar to the desktop application and allow the PWA to auto-launch. Users can install this from the Google Play store (click the link or search ‘Zoom for Chrome PWA’ in the Play store) or by going to pwa.zoom.us/wc and clicking on the ‘install’ icon in the Chrome browser address bar.
Any users not migrated to the Zoom PWA application by October 15 will no longer be able to join or host meetings with the ChromeOS app.
